Consider yourself a youthful skateboarder of the highest skill level. Wearing your favorite worn-out sneakers, you like to get sloppy and do wild antics. Suddenly, a big company finds you and says you’re exceptional. When they promise to make you a superstar, it sounds like the perfect dream. This is exactly what happened to 14-year-old Courtney Hadwin in 2018.
But here’s a twist. She soon learned that those who promise to help you sometimes try to change who you are.
Courtney became well-known on America’s Got Talent by singing like a lion. She was so amazing that she signed a record deal with Simon Cowell and his company, Syco. This felt like a ticket to the music industry for the adolescent singer.
Finally, AGT’s Courtney Hadwin validates our suspicions.
Despite being a young child in a whirlwind, Courtney’s ideal contract turned into a cage. It took her seven years to gain recognition and reveal the artist the firms were attempting to hide. The corporate execs wanted her to be a pop princess instead of a rock star. She was assigned to collaborate with composers for glamorous pop performers.
The real Courtney emerged in 2025 with the release of her album Little Miss Jagged. Together with producer Kevin Bowe, she produced a record that challenges mainstream culture. It has a gritty, real sound that blends punk energy with deep blues. Supporters say they have been waiting for this voice for years. She is now a strong woman who controls her own career instead of a company’s output.
Supporters said she worked hard to perfect her unique gift and applauded her journey. One spectator said she has a distinct flair and is pretty unique. Someone else told her not to let anyone steal her thunder because of how beautiful her voice was.
Courtney is a fully realized artist who shares her personal stories via music. She showed how her mythology is derived from what others tried to change. Follow Courtney Hadwin on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Visit her page to see how she finally found her genuine jagged voice.
